This practice helps you reconnect with your core values and what truly gives meaning to your life and parenting.

1. Settle In (2 minutes)

Sit or lie down comfortably.

Place one hand on your heart or another comforting place.

Take a few slow breaths.

Bring a warm, kind attitude toward yourself.

2. Imagine Your Future Self (4 minutes)

Gently imagine yourself many years from now.

You are older, peaceful, and content.

You are watching your grown children, and maybe grandchildren, with love.

Feel the sense of fulfillment in this moment.

From this future perspective, look back on your life.

3. Reflect on What Matters (5 minutes)

Ask yourself quietly:

  • What truly mattered in my life?
  • What filled my heart with meaning?
  • What brought me lasting joy?
  • What values guided my choices?
  • What did I pass on to my children?

Let the answers arise naturally, without forcing them.

4. Take Your Values With You (2 minutes)

Hold these values gently in your awareness.

Imagine them as a guiding light for your daily life.

Let them remind you what matters when life feels busy or overwhelming.

5. Close Gently (2 minutes)

Let the images fade.

Return to your breath and body.

Notice how you feel now.

Allow yourself to be exactly as you are.

You can return to this practice whenever you feel disconnected from what truly matters.
